Ory Identities now allows developers to pass additional parameters to upstream identity providers during social sign-in. This means that when using the Google provider, for example, you can now pass parameters such as login_hint and hd to customize the sign-in experience.
The login_hint parameter lets you pre-fill the email box on the sign-in form or select the proper session, which can help streamline the user experience. Meanwhile, the hd parameter limits the login/registration process to a specific Google Organization, like mycollege.edu.
To pass these parameters on the login, registration, and settings flows, you can simply use the submit form body to include them. We hope this feature will help make social sign-in even more powerful and customizable for developers using Ory.
